The Interinstitutional and International Relation Department of the State University of Mato Grosso do Sul is responsible for the UEMS exchanges with institutions of higher education in various countries. Its mission is to promote students and teachers of Mato Grosso do Sul state, scattered in 15 academic units of the UEMS, the exchange of knowledge and academic experiences to students and faculty from all over the world. The work with Interinstitutional and International Relation consists in offering orientation for students and teachers who are interested in information about options and procedures for studying abroad and the drafting of international agreements. Nowadays, such department mentioned above is implementing and has been implemented some and formal agreements with foreign institutions, all over the countries. 
 
 linked to UEMS Students may participate in the exchange simple. This type of exchange is available to all University courses, provided there is convening equivalent foreign institution, and holds for the six months to a year. In addition to the UEMS refer students to other higher education institutions, the Office of International and Interinstitutional Foreign Relations is responsible for receiving foreign students who come to Mato Grosso do Sul to participate in new experiences in an academic units of the State University of Mato Grosso do Sul.

        With the implementation of the Office of International and Interinstitutional  Foreign Relation it is intended to expand each year the exchanges made between the UEMS and foreign universities and enable to become a flexible curriculum, mode of interacting with the dual curriculum. The Office has in each of the professors, who are in training abroad,  an interinstitutional representative in order to  promote the implementation of bilateral agreements with international institutions or programs.
